Renovations continue at Merced County jail

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Merced County Sheriff's Office is showing disconnected the renovations made to the John Latorraca Correctional Center.

The jailhouse is located disconnected Highway 59 and Sandy Mush Road. This is the 2nd signifier of work.

The enlargement task began successful 2023.

The installation includes 256 beds and 8 classrooms to supply inmates with skills they tin usage erstwhile they get out.

This 2nd signifier of the task replaces the 55-year-old main jailhouse successful Downtown Merced.
